Job position: THIS WAY UP 15 Evaluation
Date range: November 2015 – January 2016
Contract value: £2000
THIS WAY UP/Film Hub North West Central is seeking an individual or organisation with the appropriate knowledge and expertise to undertake comprehensive monitoring and evaluation for THIS WAY UP 2015, an exhibition innovation conference produced by three of the BFI Film Audience Network Hubs- Scotland, North West Central and North. The conference is produced each year with the second edition taking place at HOME Manchester on 2 – 3 December 2015.
The aim of this evaluation is to ensure that THIS WAY UP is impactful for its key stakeholders, including delegates, speakers and participants. We expect the evaluation will allow us to continually improve THIS WAY UP through to next year’s edition in December 2016, including making recommendations on suggested changes and highlighting key successes.
The objectives of the evaluation are to:
- Assess the overall impact of THIS WAY UP including pre-event data collection to identify delegate expectations, live during-event evaluation and post conference analysis.
- Provide ongoing assessment of the impact and reach of THIS WAY UP, measuring the progress towards key objectives, including a model for monitoring delegate satisfaction and working with the project management team to ensure collection of the correct data during the conference.
- Evaluating the processes of THIS WAY UP, including the effectiveness of the organisation and delivery of the conference, partners’ and participants’ engagement, and making recommendations for future editions.
- Provide a full evaluation report with executive summary to share with key stakeholders.
The chosen applicant will have experience of evaluating cultural events and be able to commit to preparation and Manchester based meetings in advance of the conference, and full attendance at THIS WAY UP on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 December. The THIS WAY UP Management Team are keen to invite responses that look at evaluation in an innovative and flexible way.
Please send a covering letter briefly explaining how you would manage the evaluation along with your CV/company profile to email@example.com before 30 October 2015, 5pm. Candidates will be notified by Tuesday 3 November and should be available for a phone interview on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 November. We expect the successful candidate to begin working on the project from Monday 9 November.
Expected timeline of delivery:
The individual or organisation will be expected to work over the two days of the conference (2-3 December 2015), with additional days in the preceding weeks meeting the management team and creating an evaluation framework, plus at least two days compiling the evaluation report, due at the end of January 2016. In total, we estimate the amount of time to be 8 days.
