This information relates to THIS WAY UP 17 which will take place in Hull on 7 and 8 November 2017, this page will be regularly updated as the conference date draws closer!

We’re looking forward to welcoming THIS WAY UP delegates to Hull this November.

Over the next few months, we’ll update this page with detail on THIS WAY UP venues, hotel recommendations, plus insider advice on where to eat, drink and visit during your time in Hull, the UK City of Culture 2017.

TWU venues

Hull Truck Theatre – 50 Ferensway, Hull, HU2 8LB

The main venue of THIS WAY UP 17, will host all of the keynote and panel sessions.

Located close-by is The Albemarle Music Centre, the secondary venue for THIS WAY UP 17:

The Albemarle Music Centre – 60 Ferensway, Hull, HU2 8LN

The £3.5 million Albemarle Music Centre was purpose-built for the Hull Music Service as part of the St Stephen’s development.

The building has a 300 seat auditorium and a 100 seat large performance space.

Parking

St. Stephens Shopping Centre multi-storey car park has five blue badge parking spaces close to the lift which brings you out approx. 50 meters away from the main door. These spaces are situated at the opposite end of the car park to the entrance and charged at the normal rate. Parking is just £1 after 6pm. Access to the car park is from Canning Street via Portland Place, off Ferensway.

There are also five blue badge parking spaces to the rear of Hull Truck Theatre on Portland Street approx. 150 metres away from the main door. There are no time limits on these spaces.

Registration

Registration will take place at Hull Truck Theatre from 9:30-10:00 prior to the first presentation at 10:00 on 7 November. Coffee and tea will be available on arrival but we encourage you to take your seat promptly.

The registration/information desk will remain open for the duration of the conference so if you arrive on Wednesday, or later on Tuesday, you can still pick up your pass.

This Way Up Pass

Your pass gives you access to all of the sessions at THIS WAY UP 17.

Filming

We will be filming particular conference sessions, and more generally around the venues, during THIS WAY UP 17. Please inform a member of staff if you’d rather not be filmed.

Food and drink

Lunch will be provided on both days, along with coffee and tea each morning. There will be vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available during all meals and breaks.
